New to the forum, with an Old machine :)

Post #1 by Classic3CX » Sun Nov 20, 2016 11:29 pm

Hi everyone,

Just joined this forum in the hope to exchange some pretty pictures for an extensive knowledge base (and possibly the odd manual  ), I have a 1987 JCB 3CX which has always done the job and is all working apart from the odd bulb. It would be nice to get everything fully working although there are a few minor things. (and some questions about it). As soon as I work out how to upload some pictures I shall.

Cheers.

Ha I wish I did, if I had enough time the fuel gauge and rev counters would work too!

Also I don't watch TV anymore :)

I don't have a fuel guage or rpm counter in my Grey cab , the only thing that works is the temp guage and some of the warning lights .
I just use a good torch down the filler neck to see where the fuel is .....never seem to use much anyway :D

I watch too much TV , watching discovery instead of getting jobs done

The fuel guage not working will probably be the sender unit which is not the easiest thing to get to as you need to get the dash up and out of the way, i did my old 3CX in the end i located the sender then used a hole saw and cut an inspection hole which then allwed me to remove the sender and replace it a nd have a working fuel guage again.

Please forgive me for jumping in on this thread. I also have just picked up an old Jcb 3cx-4 site master. I believe it is a white cab but more rust than white visible. I'm wondering what year it is so that I can start ordering parts to renovate her. On the plate it has 3CX-4/299404/P/S.

Any help greatly appreciated.
