Enjoyed that thanks.

Total absence of health and safety and risk assessment, in the days when we still used common sense and a healthy sense of self-preservation.

I particularly liked the single car deliveries on the back of the old Scammel Scarabs, prior to the transporter appearing, and the horizontal drum cement delivery lorry. Nightmare, those things.

Not so sure wether NO h+s is a great idea though, getting the track shovel out of the pit looked very dodgy to me !

Lack of common sense there. They should have put a chain on to the JCB and used it to keep the Cat steady as it climbed the ramp.

Building Ravenscraig Steelworks ,first half of this 1950s colour film is stacked with plant , even George Fowell dumpers . Could we build an enormous steelworks from scratch in 3 years today ?

Some may enjoy this recording by the Maltese owner/operator. Both Leyland truck (with perhaps a later grill) and a very useful 3C 11 with t/c and one off cab (is that an air con unit on the mudguard?).

Great clip essexpete, nice to see the owner taking an interest and producing a video, I was in cyprus in the summer and wanted to take a photo of a six wheeler ford d series in good nick and the owners son was in the garage so I asked if I could take a photo, he went and asked his father and he started waving his arms and saying no photos! Miserable Greek tw@!

Happened to stumble on this play for today from the BBC on youtube starring the late great Pete Postlethwaite in a programme called "The Muscle Market", apparently a spin off from the Boys from the Blackstuff, lots of plant shown as it is about a plant hire business owner who falls on hard times and gets involved with owing the wrong people money, clips of MF's, Hymacs, JCB 3c's,Drott, dumpers etc and can be found by clicking on the link below. Enjoy!
