Le Tornadu is for sure the only manufacturer as made such huge wheel loader? Cat can´t compete against it. When watching this photo it seems as the operator is at last 5 meters above the mark. I think it need only a half full bucket to fill a common Swedish 3 axle truck as takes 12 ton perhaps lesser.

AMD computers and Volvo trucks is best

Yes it is only LeTourneau who has made a wheel loader of that size and larger. Both Komatsu and LeTourneau makes larger loaders than CAT. Although the Komatsu WA1200 isnt much bigger than a 994. A LeTourneau L-1850 has an opperation weight of around 230 metric tons, a CAT 994F has about 200 metric tons of opperation weight. The LeTourneau L-2350 is the largest loader in the LeTourneau range and the largest wheel loader in the world. It has an opperation weight of 260 metric tons.

I have read that LeTourneau have thought of making a larger machine than the L-2350 although at the time the need of such a large machine dont exist. Thats why they dont do it. Would be pretty cool if they did though... hehe

Well it dont have to be a very big garden, since I can dig it bigger... hehe

I would guess that the P&H shovel is around 1300 metric tons. P&H has several diffrent verisions of the 4100 model and I belive the 4100BOSS is close to 1500 tons.

The Marion is smaller, only about 1000 tons.

That coal truck looks interesting, what is it?

830-E haulpak truck.
Thats one of there latest 4100s.
A friend (shovel mechanic) told me that machine has a smaller bucket on it. The original was for loading 930-E trucks and would damage the 830s pretty bad on first load.
Unlike a Hydraulic machine were the operator could ease the load in with the Visor.
the 4100BOSS is close to 1500 tons.

Yeah thats there High floation model. BI495HF are in the same league.

Ahh I though it could be a Haulpak, not sure though!

Okey that explains why the shovel buckets are so small. Coal dont weight much so the buckets can be very big. The L-1850 for example is avaible with a 42m3 (55yd3) coal bucket. Thats about the same size of a rock bucket for a 4100XPB. And since rock is very heavy the buckets cant be very big, the L-1850 has 4 diffrent sizes of rock buckets, from about 20-27m3 (28-35yd3). So the shovel should be able to have much larger bucket. Although if the dumptrucks take damage from it is out of the question.

Yeah Syncrude Canada Ltd. have a fleet of 7 P&H 4100BOSS and 3 Bycurus 495HF. ;)
