Spotted this Leibherr , plus mystery green 360, MAN 4X4 and Cat adt , The Cat ADT climbed right to the top of the mountain behind it !

I believe this is honister mine- please check youtube there is a video of this excavator being pulled up a mountainside on a platted wire rope tied to a cat 725 truck - please take a look at this guys and then draw your own conclusion as to whether this guy is a hero or a fool, oh wait isnt honister in wales? sorry i just checked the title my bad

Interesting pics XS650, the operator will have an outstanding view of the surrounding area from his cab! Hope the retarder is in good working order for the trip back down!

I saw this D250E a few years ago while driving round the lakes, sadly it was parked up and i diddn't have a camera with me (school boy error!) I believe it is the slate mine at the top of the honnister pass which is stunning during the summer months!

Yes it was the Honister Pass Mike, bought a very nice slate house no. from the quarry shop which the lady assured me had been handwrought by the quarry artisans not shipped in from China . :D
Well worth a visit if your in the area .

There's a big sign at the bottom pointing out that the road is private, and is not a footpath (the path runs up the old incline on the left hand side)

video is quite impresive, i would NOT be in that cab, (i dont own that many changes of underwear!!!!) but dont know how to link to it, is under honiston - how to pull a JCB up a mountain.
