Funny to think thr Scammell was fitted with an old BMC cab Tim.

I was also told the scammell was bought by ward bros to replace an older lowloader which was trashed when it became stuck in stanhope ford during heavy flooding with a 50t dumper on the back - apparantly both ended up somewhere downstream on their sides ,does anyone remember this ? or is it just hear say??

I would say this is correct clockworklozenge because TRUCK magazine did a feature on Ward's S24 in the mid-80's and I remember in the article the S24 had to go through a ford on the way to a remote quarry and the driver-I think his name was Tony Ayre-said he was a bit hesitant at
fords as he had once been swept downstream in a flood.Sadly I threw the magazine out a few years back. Tim
