Thank you for posting. These pics bring back memories.
I worked on the ECO2 and CS3 Comets and the S Type bedfords in the 60s when I looked after a mixed fleet of about twenty, and I owned one of those dodges soon afterwards.

I also maintained 19 and 22 RBs through the 60s into the 70s too, used to get to drive them. The face shovel was a brilliant fast tool if you could put up with the noise and the heat.

The Hymac in the last pic was taken in Castle Street, Merthyr Tydfil in the mid 70s, the Castle Hotel stands there now. It belonged to rwo friends of mine John and Ken Snape they traded as Ashbank Construction.

Dad ran a S type with a rounded alloy gravel body. He always said the gearbox kept trying to fall off!

Seen a few US demolition jobs , recycling does not seem high on agenda ! everything just tipped into massive high sided artic tippers ,assume tip fees are cheap there .
Not all those who wander are lost.

Things are changing over there. I was amazed how they carried on when I first went there in 1998. I have an uncle who lives in San Francisco and only about 5 years ago said surprised "I've never seen anyone crushing concrete before" (He's not in construction and lived there for 30 years but its an indicator of how things have changed more recently.)
