Okay folks as this is sadly but slowly dying on its feet now and because of Christmas and the colder weather etc. I have decided to combine the December 2016 and January 2017 photo competitions; the judge for the best photo will be Classic 3CX Michael.

Well worn Komatsu on stockpiling duty.

we have been growing mung beans and they were harvested a few days before Christmas




And on the same day while the header was stripping the beans I was busy raking hay late into the day it was meant to rain and keep on raining but for next two weeks so it was rush rush but so far we have had 1.5 mm not the 6 inches or more they spoke about LOL

I love the idea of harvesting and haymaking at christmas!
The trouble I'm finding more and more now is that a lot of sites I visit won't allow photos - some don't even allow cameras on the premesis. I was parked recently at a supplier, alongside what I thought was part of the factory complex when it slowly dawned on me what I was looking at. The words 'MAX GROSS WT 75 TONS - MAX LOADING WT 40 TONS' were written on the side of the biggest wheeled scissor lift I've ever seen! Unfortunately no photos allowed.

Unfortunately a sign of the times factories had open days once heck even drilling rigs when I was I kid had open days as the were working in our area for months or maybe years in the 70's and they took us up on the derricks the power stations and open cut coal mines had open days just about everything did once
I remember going places with dad in the farm truck and the foreman would show us around the sites and photos were never a problem but today with all the doogooders twisting stuff around sites are a lot less likely to allow anyone on site at all
Had family friends had a abattoir and a uni student wanted to do a story on it so they let her in she spooked the pigs they then escaped onto the killing floor were they were promptly put down she filmed all of this put on the interweb and with out question from the government they took the licences away from this family run organisation it never went to court all charges were dropped the family lost its business and the stupid little bitch gets away with it 30 families no longer have jobs

So yeah no cameras

There can be several reasons why certain companies don't permit photos to be taken and as Paul has said above irresponsibility is just one reason; one of the premises where I took some photos of a couple of machines, the owner was okay about it but asked me not to photograph the merchandise that was at that place which is fair enough as it could attract unwanted attention, plus of course with all this daft health and safety if you filmed or photographed somebody who accidently forgot to wear their PPE or did something dangerous it could cause a whole heap of grief for the owner and with todays legal eagles hell bent on 'no win, no fee' this just adds to the madness.
I'm not suggesting that companies should be dangerous places but many on here have experienced work without the madness of health and safety as we know it today and in general the job still got done without hurt to anybody, why can't we have a more sensible approach to H&S? I guess the 'no win, no fee' really answers my own question!
