This was an less than perfect weekend trying to get a rather rare flood water Caterpillar to an island so we can recover it the rest of the way across the ice next winter. Everthing we needed to drag it was paddled out in a 12 ft boat. Oh, did I mention that it was on three wheels with the left front hub gone. It started out 35' out in the water.

Yes it is. The picture discription was a bit of a tease to see whom noticed. Its a DW6 with a Balderson blade. Runs great. Just hard to move with one front tire missing and the other flat.

First up is from a marble quarry on the beautiful island of Skye off the West Coast of Scotland. The stone there is really ice white once crushed, not to mention the stunning back drops.

Next up is more "West of Scotland" but with wheels and a Hitachi 870 TUHD fully rigged approaching its drop off point and all lit up. (Sorry about the quality of this one as it really was point and shoot)

I spent most of the birthday in the woods playing with my 1970s Gafner Iron Mule 1501 forwarder today. I was moving popple (Aspen) to the landing. Its goes for pulp wood to make paper and fiber clothes. A fun and relaxing day until the 40 degree rain drove me out. It is built on a Ford chassis with the little Red Tiger diesel in it. Gafner also built the same size forwarder on a Massey Furgerson chassis.
