Acid etch primer and plastic

Hello, I am currently modifying some diecast models using plastic parts. I will be repainting the models but was wondering if the acid etch primer would melt the plastic parts. Has anyone here had problems or have come up with a solution. Thank you.

No,it won't melt plastic, but best suitable for use on bare metal.I use just thin layers of the finnish colour on plastics as spray primers can hide detail such as rivets on fine scale models. For diecast /plastic models I would use car body primer one coat only as it can be a bit too thick on fine detail. I have used acid 8 on plastic and diecast with no adverse effect on the model I was spraying.Use a test plastic item to try it on
