Does anyone know the paint colour/code that will match the Norscot CAT colour?

Where would I get it from? :?:

Now there's a question ... my solution would be take it to a good decent paint shop and have it matched

which norscot model?

There are about 7 different shades of norscot CAT yellow at my last reckoning, some depending on what the sub material is and thickness of paint or use of primer. What is it you want to do?

If it is major, then a spray of genuine finning paint is your best bet.

If it is touch up, then I use several humbrol colours and mix them together to get the match.

Older machines are "Hiway yellow",machines around the late 1960's were painted a mustard yellow.Finning supply touch up paint that is the same as your D9's and mine trucks. The can is larger than your average car spray can so you could do a few models.I have used it on a few models. Its not too thick and will not hide detail on scale models.I may have the part number somewhere.

Cheers all for the replies.

I realised after I posted that there are a load of different CAT colours through the ages. Its the latest Mustard type colour. I have a Norscot 5110B I want to either repaint or just touch up places like the rivets and pins.

It's handy to know that finning do touch up spray paints.

I have a Komatsu PC1100 (JOAL) I would like to repaint too, I take it that would be the same, a can of touch up paint from Komatsu?

I'm colour blind so trying to mix my own paint to get a match could go horribly wrong! :D :D

I still say that buying spray paint is the way to go, fair enough you want it as a touch up, ok this is what i do, spray a small amount into the cap of tin, leave it for a few mins to stiffen, the paint by then will be good enough to fill most scratches and to cover other blemishes ... dont throw the cap away, you will be able to re use what is left in cap again by just spraying a small amount onto what is already in the cap.

I'm actually working at a Ertl 631E at the minute where the apron is a brighter shade than the remainder of the scraper, in this case I will be respraying the model so that will sort that out.
