Printing your own decals.

Post #1 by niner » Fri May 18, 2012 7:45 pm

I have a plan to make customise a couple of my own vans as either Komatsu or CAT service vans. I have been thinking about the decals and have found the Inkjet water transfer paper on ebay. My guessing is that you can google some images into a word document and then print them onto the transfer paper.

I reckon it would be a lot of trial and error gettting the decals the right size.

Has anyone tried this? is worth even venturing into it?

If you want images I suggest a white decal paper as against clear! Clear tends to get the base colour on the model and if it's a light coloured van it lightens the whole decal and makes it look crap!

Cheers for the tip joe. Have you done your own? How would you get them to scale? is it just a lot of printing to get it right?
