Bucket set painting advice neede

Hi there I have a bucket set and qh for my britains 3cx is there a special kind of paint I could use as when I did the ones for my Joal 3cx I used Jcb black and if I remember right it didn't take to the metal that great

Grant, did you sand or wire brush the buckets first ? did you use normal primer or etched primer ?

Ah that's what I did wrong I just slapped on the paint what's the best primer to use martyn

I use just ordinary primer, and seeing as you are using black, i would suggest a grey or red oxide primer, but if i was you i would try to get some etched primer unless you are going to lacquer the buckets

checkout dhs diecasts forum and look up a guy called antho, He make custom buckets depending what you want....i have no idea how much he charges but his buckets are excellent!

Why on earth did that post here, it was supposed to be in the PC1100 thread,

Yeh i know martyn but ive never seen any buckets big enough to fit the model from either gaz or brian, thats the only reason a mentioned antho!
