I got sent a CAT service truck and a D11 minus the cab and a broken blade tilt ram to weather so I made a start a while back.
I have finished the service truck. I've only lightly weathered it because all the photos I've seen online seem to be of pretty clean ones. I've added the flashing light bar to the roof, a small fire extinguisher to the rear and made fixed outriggers. Thses dont slide in and out because it will sit in the dio like this. I fixed the broken ram and put that on a pallet and made up a small wooden crate from balsa and placed that on a pallet for a small load.
Some photos.

The D11 was weathered last night and just waiting to get some wood for a plinth to mount it on and make a tarp to cover the missing cab.

I had a bit of a struggle on my hands trying to make a tarp that draped properly and everything I tried didn't look right so I opted for the boarded up cab look as if had been sat there for a while and keeping the vandals at bay!
I mounted this on a piece of oak and a mix of PVA glue and granite dust.
It's not quite finished, I still need to do some more weathering on the dozer and maybe add some greenery.

I'd appreciate any comments or suggestions.

Nice one Martin my only suggestion would have been that perhaps you could have fabricated a cab from plastic sheet; I know its a lot of work but may have been worth a punt? Looks okay with the wood but I would have thought cabs tend to have anti-vandal guards these days? Just a couple of ideas for you mind.

Thanks jeremy,
I'm doing this for someone that sent me them so I'm trying to keep the costs and time down, if it were mine I would have sourced a new cab or even made one. If I find something suitable for a tarp I will throw it over.
