This is the crane that I made for my nephew about 35 years ago. Fret saw cut plywood glued together - Meccano innards. I tested the strength of the pedestal by standing on it and it is still in one bit to this day!
Note the vintage Sony colour TV with continuous rotary tuning control - I gave it to a work colleague who used it as a computer monitor and it only failed about 5 years ago - still worked but everything was green! - Lastability is nothing new!
