JCB 3D 111

Post #1 by Nelson » Wed May 29, 2013 8:16 pm

Hi All

First post here and I have very limited mechanical knowledge, I have just stared to restore my JCB 3D111 and have a problem with my steering, its really loose i can move the wheels from side to side! From what I can tell its a centre bush. My question is does any one know what its called and where can i get another one cost etc...

Thanks in advance

The best thing to do would be to lift up the loader and get someone to wiggle the steering wheel as you look around. You could then lift the front wheel off the ground and have a feel around to confirm. It could be a number of things: Track rod ends, steering ram pins/ends and also (certainly on our old Mk 11) the casting that goes over the kingpin (with the ram end attached) moving on the keyway. Worn centre pivot can also make everything a whole lot worse.
