Hello!
Has recently been dragged home a Chaseside Loader here in Sweden, which I will renovate: Cool

The engine, a Leyland UE400 is stuck so it keeps me on to take out, previous owners have removed the drive shaft, etc. for the steering shaft as such, I need, etc. etc. Smile

Does anyone know what kind of brand the front and rear axle the this machine ?
I cant find any sign except the "Chaseside" mark on the hubs

My guess is they would not be easy to find in the UK. That era of Chaseside looked quite a machine although I have read somewhere that it was the development of the SL range that put the company into financial problems.

Re: Chaseside SLM 2000 Project !
Its surprising what can be found, the hydrovac on Barry's machine was rotted away.Barry, Fred and I were at the tractor world show at the three counties showground Mavern.I was having a good look around the tractor part stalls and found a new condition hydrovac in a wooden box under a table. Its just being a bit lucky, websites such as CMN can be a great help in obtaining parts for your restorations.

Re: Chaseside SLM 2000 Project !
Here in Sweden, Muir Hill and Chaseside machines were imported by AB Industridiesel, a minor manufacturer of mining locomotives with roots in the Swedish Deutz agency and Tornborg & Lundberg AB, which was a major industrial company from Stockholm, who sold all sorts of machines for building and construction industry (such as tower cranes, excavators and cement mixers). It was primarily on imported machinery, but also on its own production

Hi Martyn,
Yes, Barry is short of fitters. He only asked me to look at it because he didn't have anyone else "old enough" to remember anything about commercial servo and hydrovac braking systems.
Retired, whats that I'm starting to wonder how I ever had time to work.
Fredrik, if you think we can help don't be afraid to ask. As Essexpete says it's difficult enough locating parts here.
Good luck.

Re: Chaseside SLM 2000 Project !
Thank you Fred! , I'm sure I will get good help and advice on this board!
I bought a service instruction manual and Parts list of the Super Loadmaster 1000 on ebay and many parts are still the same, however, says that it is equipped with a Ford model 590E Engine, Clark C270 torque-converter, and Timken axles of the machine,
My SLM2000 is equipped with a Leyland UE400 engine, Allison converter and about the axles I am not sure about the brand, Did Chaseside use other brands of axles than Timken?
How about JCB, -when they took over Chaseside, i read somewhere on this board that JCB had the Chaseside sign on the axles on the first Wheel Loaders ?
Is it hard to find parts for the Leyland engines in UK?
I also bought a Service instruction manual and Parts list for the Leyland UE400 engine....!
