Mark I am so glad that you found my threads, I had a look trough the diagrams and I will print them off today, I did not know of this 413 loading shovel (not surprising ) so I had a look at it and there are very alike, I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you on finding more additional info in the coming days.  . I must do a post in the parts wanted section, I am looking for cable for gear selector, cable for engine cut off also need new brake pedal, I am afraid to think what my full parts list is going to look like.
however its more of a passion than anything elce. I do agree with you that info on back hoes are resionable plentyfull but I am sure like most of these projects they always throw up some surprises that was never in any book but I guss that is sometimes the beauty of a re-build. im'e waffeling. thank you for all your help.

Mark did you see the 418 that is on ebay, the guy that is selling it dosent seem to be very interested is selling parts as he has advertised, I have sent this guy "Steve" a couple of e-maile's with a list of some parts including the cab but he has not responded, I will try and phone him Monday, do you know him or has anyone els had any dealings with him as he does seem to have a number of other machines for sale and breacking.

 Thanks Mark, yes I have seen the video, it is a mirror image of my own, I have to say that the whistle from the turbo on that perkins engine is like classical music to my ears  , and I hope I have made the right decision in trying to restore this one, it is the hardest thing I have done in relation to getting parts and info about, I received some good information from CMN members so thanks again to all.

Yeah Mike the motor does sound sweet  I've been trawling the net too for info on the 418, hopefully some more info will turn up. If and when it does you'll be first to know. As for your restoration, "go for it" is what I'd say. These older machines need to be kept alive  Cheers Mark.
