A lot of the Twin Disc transmissions had a 4 wheel drive take off fitted,this may have been a special order or an ex r&d machine.

Great photos , the Bedford RL 4x4 tipper a bit of a rarity in civilian guise. ( Army had loads and they were thought of very highly, I remember being overtaken quite often on motorway by army RL 3 tonners when I was in my dads Commer van, petrol RL's were fast for their time with a 5 litre engine.)

As an anorak I just need to point out that the 700 in these photos was a Torque Convertor model. The Bedford looked very tidy.
