Hi guys
Just thought I,d put a pennyworth in.I had 2 chasesides in the 1970s and they both had ford 4ds in them, seems they needed an executive decision.

These would be in the 2wd sl700/800 with brockhouse transmissions that always leaked even from new due to bad storage and the torque converter resting heavily on the front oil seal causing damage to the seal.

Nice one Pete  I trust you are going to carry out some kind of restoration on it?

Not sure why I have bought it really, I certainly do not need it but it could be an occasional back up to telehandler (may be :D ) I suppose I would like to find at least the lower rear panel or possibly make one, a whole cab would be nice. It started life registered in Essex (Chlemsford) and there is a very slim chance that it could have been Dad's machine. I expected it will sit under the barn with an unrestored Weatherill.

Has anyone seen this before? A 700 but an unusual cab and wings, wonder if this was a prototype that never made to production?

Picture not very good:

Hello jack.
One of the chasesides had a torque converter but was only used for spares as the gearbox had a very large crack across the bottom of it.
The other one was a standard clutch manual gearbox no probs at all. When i sold it(after a few years use)it went to India,so who knows where now.
