John Tutt looks in on here occasionally, he is a very helpfull gentleman, ex FE Weatherill service. You might find his email on the Weatherill hydraulic site.
I am not too sure but it may have a Ford drive axle coupled to a British Twin Disc torque convertor transmission.

Re: Weatherill
Hi David your 42HD is a Hi-Tip Fitted with a Ford 5000drive axle Perkins 6354.4 engine and Twin Disc transmission
the quick release is Weatherills own and is a late design.

Re: Weatherill
Good stuff Craig, thanks.
1st: 12H probably very late 50s early 60s build with GRP cab. From the picture it looks like a torque convertor model. Amazing on a dump, the one we had was an absolute pig off the hard and very easy to get set.
2nd: looks like an early to mid 50s 2H. It has 2 crowd rams but the arms look as though they are made from pieces of RSJ. (Good view of Dodge)
3rd: 42HD from late 60s/70s
4th: Another 12H, the cabs hinged for access
