Spotted this at the weekend on Great Central Railway Leicester,Its a coal shovel that has been replaced by A JCB 525 telehandler for loading the steam locomotives. Still in tidy order. The preserved railway was also running full lenght coal trains.

Nice find, it looks to be in fairly good order for its age.

The Weatherill L86 looked a beast but it probably arrived 10 years too late.

The L86 does look a beast, it also reminds of Michigan loaders.

When was the first front drive rear steer Volvo produced?

Weatherill had the 8H in 1955 and this was close to Chaseside with a much more advanced looking LM 600. They were both predated by Matbro IIRR.

The front cab 42H arrived about '61.
