Seemingly every night during the 2001 foot and mouth crisis , BBC News showed footage of a very good condition 8H loading carcasses inside a barn

8H? are you sure it was not one of these?

.... here is what I have made after finding this site last weekend .... first rendered out of the CAD program ....
and, as it will appear in the simulator game 'Trainz ', that I create models for ....
.... I could well be using a lot of the info that you guys are sharing, if you do not mind, reference material on these type of machines is hard to find - all I need are a few dimensions, track, wheelbase, wheel sizes and a few pictures or side on views to make a fair, lowpoly representation to go into the game. Thanks for the brilliant site.

Very impressive CAD graphics work Rowehillmaster ( not many of them around!), pedant point ,would BR lorries be delivering domestic coal ?

... it is modelled on our old coalmans, well what I remember - it was blue with black wheels, they might of been bigger than those on the model - a 5Tonner, I believe it was petrol, and sounded great coming up our hill, blowing the dust up with its exhaust, smelling real hot while he was putting the coal and coke into the shed - ahh it takes me back.

Ah an FG ,thats better, Coalmen liked these because they could open the doors in narrow alleys and they were cheap !
