I recon the BL32 would be close to what my father ha in the late 50s but the blue would be paler.

The illustrator who used to work with me did many air-brush jobs for Terex on their publicity and technical literature before the days of Photoshop.

Good job on those logos! I've scanned two from the literature I have - I don't have the 'British Built' one - but I notice that it looks very like the shape of Bray's fabricated axle casings!

I trained as a Technical Illustrator, when at college a number of people used to go to the Case factory at Redruth, (think its gone now) and gather material for reference, to produce illustrations for their course work, a number of people did good cutaway illustrations of skid steer loaders, I did a Magerius-Deutz Truck, an Austin Champ and a F2 Stock Car, oh and a boat gearbox for my projects ... no loaders though !

All the Technical Illustrator's I've worked with (and there's been a few ) have gone to Blackpool and Fylde College, they seemed to specialise in that kind of training.

.... no, it was Cornwall for me, there was only three places to do TI to HND - Camborne Tec, Bournmouth and Blackpool - I worked with some from up there when I first started work in the early eighties - (again) those were the days I went to ones 50th last year !

What did Case (J.I.Case?) assemble in their Redruth factory?

I think it was a skidsteer - bobcat ? .... they were white and red I think ..... but this was what I was doing



.... it was 27 years ago .... could I do it now ? ....

.... I have started my model of the BL25, but have already run into problems - the photo that I have, a nice side on picture, which helps getting the proportions correct, seems to be of an earlier model than that of the one that Dave has posted from the Bray brochure .... does anyone have any more pictures of Bray tracked loaders ? .... I like the look of what I presume to be the later version, and would like to model that one, but as yet I do not have enough reference to do that -the loader arms look heavier, can anyone else help with pictures of a BL25 please?

From google images, were these things any good , the tracks and sprockets look fragile for constant slewing around.

Craig, that picture is from SED a few years ago. The counterweight was a box full of nuts and bolts and general small workshop junk!
