Hi Peter,
That's a tidy looking machine, doesn't look like too much rust on the tinwork. That detroit diesel will sound good !!

Hi guy's!
Yes it's in pretty good shape!
I think it's about an -74 or -75 model.
And the hour meter shows just above i think it was 6000hours.
I will an roling overhaul, the most expencive will be to get another set of tires, cant afford new one's even if i would love to get taht for my beauty! :D
The buckets cutting edge will be replaced by an friend of me who works at an company taht manufature buckets.
Think he will be the right person for that!
Otherwise i will do the most of the work my self, I is educated as an heavy mechanic but I have allways worked as an operator......better paycheck to operate or atleast it was that back in the late -70s when I started to work.

Nice Banger catpeter, I have 2 customers that still run those noise machines as and when needed, I am a mechanic as drivers pay would not cover my beer bill, anyhow if you get stuck on any spanner point with it, I would have a good go at helping you out, the ram seals are easy to replace with no fancy tools needed, the hydraulic system is a bit odd to modern equipment and seems a bit of a lash-up, the engine does make a right din, it sounds lovely for the first hour, then slowly drives you mental, I also have all the parts and service books for them,

Hi Tony,
Sounds interesting, maybe we could change e-mail addresses!
I started my career as anoperator when I was 14 in an Terex just like this one I have.
So it's an trip down memory lane.
Here in Sweden we rarely get to hear an Detroit anymore, but thats about to change!! :-)
I have tried to contact Terex in Motherwell to maybe get an year of manufacture but with no luck at all.
Probably havent got in contact with the right person there.
Would be fun to know that.
Have also searched for an operators manual, but with the same luck there.
But as i said we maybe could change e-mails.
