Is this a Chaseside ??

Post #1 by Rosendal » Thu May 22, 2014 4:50 pm

We have, in Copenhagen Suborbitals, this nice machine but we do not know what brand it is.
We have a copy of the operating manual or most of it. It doesnt mention the name of the machine only the type: SL 704....

I have been informed that it could be JCB or Chaseside.
Can any of you tell me more about this loader ??

I don't think it is a Chaseside, the arms and main frame don't look right to me. Looks like a tractor axle at the front by the lower eyes.

I reckon its a Chaseside SL1000 or SL1250. The loader arms and linkages plus body features seem to match up quite well with Chaseside machines looking at pictures from the few brochures I've looked up on Google images. Good condition for a machine that probably dates from the mid 1970's?
Look out that window, Eden isn't burning. Its burnt.

Can't find my Chaseside book, similar size to the SL1000, the 3000 was huge beast. If it is a Chaseside it will be a mid to late 60s machine.

It sure looks like our machine, Fred. Thanks :claphands:
Now to my next question: I have heard that Chaseside used parts like front axel from other manufactorer, like Ford. Is that correct ?? And any idear who mad our front axel ??

I ask because we have problems with the brakes and probably a bearing in the diff
So if anyone can help me locate a servicemanual or at least some pictures/drawings in exploded view of the mentioned parts, it will help us a lot :)

I know that its an old machine but being as JCB acquired Chaseside surely they would still be able to get brake parts or bearings?
