Or they were in a position where it was buy or say goodbye?To a large part of the uk rrv fleet,cobber?

Your right in what your saying they did have the largest fleet of road railers,but.putting a new set.of stickers isn't going to change the personel that are running that company and remember its tax payers money that's funding this new enterprise

Yeah I mean literally say 'good bye' to the plant,as in gone 'south',which would have left the uk with a big hole in rail maintenance capability!

if there s a big hole in the rail maintenance capability maybe some company with an idea how to make money would have taken the striken firm over not nwr get the idea ????

even if the 'big hole' in maintenance capabilities was the sudden removal from these shores of the fleet of machines,take a few years to build up a 300 machine fleet?would have put a full stop........to lots of maintenance/relay/xmas work, perhaps someone was looking to take over the rail assets,network rail had to jump in to ensure the plant stayed here/was available from last week on?????
