What do you need to go on the railways? Cpcs?
Whats the ££ like?

First of all all workers that work on track need a pts (personal track safety) everyone needs one but then road rail drivers need a CPCS Road/Rail red or blue card or Sentinel OTP card to operate plant on track. Also as a gigarailer driver i was sent to rexquote http://www.rexquote.co.uk/ to do training on the gigarailer spent 3 days there and now its all I drive on projects as i am so used to them. also the pay is very good pays the bills etc :D

yeah as well as the otp on sentinal card,24 shifts/ logbook entries in two years to keep up each category,unless you're on a companie's sponsor list you can't get on.

the money is good, hours are long and unsociable ie weekends night and day !!! did a little bit for BCL not my cup
of tea although some people love it and would do nothing else,when on bcl the rail men hated doing shifts on civils.
and you are nearly allways miles from anywhere ie cafe`s :( :( :(

Where can you get your hands on second hand equipment from nut runners to road railers.

There are a few for sale out there but not sure where best bet is to search in google.
