Some big iron at bauma China 2012; shovel, trucks & dozer

Post #1 by Shovelman » Thu Dec 06, 2012 11:53 pm

A friend in Hong Kong sent me some photos from his trip to the show. I'd love to witness this unit in action alongside D475s and D11s.

My thoughts too lets just hope that it does not have better quality than we give it credit for else it would cause more problems for Western manufacturing facilities.

It pains me to say it but I bet that'll be better than you think! :eh:

It a copy no doubt of the Komatsu, but look what the Japanese and the Koreans have done to the earthmover and crane markets! Slow to start, copy the best and buy their way in.

People said Hitachi would n't be any good in the early eighties and Hy-mac was king!!!!! Look who's laughing now!

Were those the days when Norton & Triumph motorcycles were King, along with Rover & Vauxhall cars etc... Then along came Honda with their funny little Jap cars & bikes, people laughed, yeah look what happened....

Panasonic, Sony, Honda, Toyota, not exactly rubbish brands. Now we see the same from the likes of S Korea with brands like Samsung, Kia, Hyundai....

The best thing the West can do is get over to China, invest & do business instead of taking the p**s.

Komatsu may very well have sold them the design; this is common for the Japs and many of the Chinese motorcycles have engines based on older Honda machines, similarly the early Daewoo excavators were based on an old Hitachi design.
In simple terms this is now old tech built to a lower standard (hopefully).
