First shovel, a 6030 is off to Finland i hear. Sydney 4 yearly mining show is on next month at Homebush and Cat have a stand for the first time since 1999, sort of by default seeing as Bucyrus had booked the lot but there will be yellow former white machines on display.

Re: Caterpillar's purchase of Bucyrus
Dont think Cat should mess with them too much .. What are they going to do?
Rip out the pump's and fit there own? Maybe just design a fresh PTO system? Then take the 5 hose rule from the front end? Then change the drive Motors? What about the main valve system .. Totally different from a cat set up.
Just stick a CAT badge on everything would be the best thing to do until they have proven design components implemented.
Cannot see VIMS going on them anytime soon TBH .. Not 3G anyway .. Cannot just Add Vims to a whole machine! ..

They need to get rid of that 2nd engine on the 120 size machine if they want to continue to compete, to much fuel burn and running cost with 2 engines at that size machine.
Don,t be so sure with VIMS mate, i have 651E with VIMS and they did not come factory with it.
