BANKS MINING RH120E

Post #1 by martinB50 » Mon Jan 31, 2011 5:08 pm

I heard a rumour that Banks have bought a new RH120E? do any of our members know if this unit is painted in the bucyrus colour scheme
I also heard they have taken delivery of 5 or 6 komatsu 785 trucks for their shotton site?
any info would be grateful

Hi Martin

Banks have bought a new Bucyrus RH 120E face shovel for their new Brenkley Lane site. Its is not painted in the Bucyrus colour scheme  It is mainly white with some small bucyrus decals -big improvement on the old colour scheme.
They have another RH 120E arriving in the next couple of months for that site in backhoe spec.
I am not sure how many - but they have at least 3 Komatsu HD 785 trucks working at Brenkley Lane at the minute with a view to buying more. Not sure how many - if any - they have ordered for Shotton.
Shotton has recently taken some more Volvo A40E coal haulers.

Zippy :)

Hi guys
thanks for the info, most interesting to see Banks opting for komatsu trucks over Cat ones? to be honest when i first saw the Bucyrus colour scheme i didnt like it, however over time it has kind of grown on me
shame it wont be around for much longer? if anyone gets chance to photo these machines would love to see the pictures posted on here

Aye there's a 120-E here with two C27's .... Plenty of output ..

The C18 is more suited to the 90's ...

Hi Martin,
There will be a piece in Earthmovers on the 785 and possibly the RH120E.

Good find Joe, the colour scheme is not as purple as the Scottish Coal machines!
