The Men Who Built Britain

Post #1 by kopite » Fri Nov 09, 2012 2:31 am

Written by Ultan Cowley, this is a book more about the lives of the Irish transient workers, than of heavy equipment. It is full of quotes and pictures of hand digging of canals, tunnels etc. For those who worked with the Irish labourers and equipment operators it is an interesting look at where it all started and what it became. I couldn't put it down.

Also read Utlan Cowleys book, McAlpines Men. Much the same as The Men Who Built Britain with a few changes here and there.
