fiat fl4 lives again!!!!!!!!!

Post #1 by jimfoster4 » Sat Mar 30, 2013 9:25 pm

Hi All,

I've been busy for the last 2 months or so with the restoration of the FL4. Just to give you a brief history, it last run about 8 years ago when it lost drive accompanied with a grateing noise coming from the final drive area. So, stripped it down and found the problem :) one the the main bearings of the crown wheel had collapsed, allowing the crown wheel to move out of mech with the pinion. Replaced this and replaced or renewed many other bits along the way.

Finished re-assembly Thursday and had a brief test start but it was onlytoday that I got it out to do some work. Performed great, Reduction clutches working correctly and the new brake bands made turning a plesant experiance.

I hope to put some pics on.

Jim
