Hi Fred, what a loverly old picture, no hi-vis no hard hats and kids on site,what would the elf and safety people say?
Was this the machine that you repaired the gearbox on?
Makes my back ache just thinking about lifting those shafts out from the bottem of them gearbox housings.

No Peter, its just a nice old pic. I scanned from a book. :thumbup:
From your remarks you must have hung upside down in the guts of the old BTD 20s too, that shaft in the bottom was a heavy awkward lump to handle.
It had to be shimmed to set up the bevel gear and to preload the bearings too. :doh:
Were those realy the good old days. :lol: :lol: :lol:

I'm restoring a TD 18 at the moment, shes 1942, just one year younger than me. :) "I'll never learn." :roll:

I wonder if the loader frame has a tag on it?If it were a fit for the 24,the number would possibly be something like A24K3...or similar.

Is the machine still in Central Vic? I'd love to see it..
