Great old time shot Tim!!

I can remember WG Privett & Sons , If my memory serves me right :dizzy: they got gobbled up by the one time massive Plant & Transport company from Portsmouth H.T. Hughes.

Yes they were Nick. You may remember Heavers part of the John Heaver aggregate and ready mix group from chichester. This was part of a vast project in the 60,s when some 2 million tons of chalk was taken from Butser hill on the A3 south of Petersfield, was hauled by road down into the Portsmouth area for the Havant and other bypasses along the A27.The sticker in the tipper windscreen denotes the Mid Southern Tipping Group a consortium of all the local tipper operators of the time including Privetts ,Haskins, Hughes, lucketts,Treloars and Sibleys. At times over 100 tippers a day were used on this project.

Wow Yes !! I had forgotten about Treloars & Sibleys they were always bringing in materials when I used to go to work with my Father during construction of the M27 Windover to Funtley section 73-74

I can't recall Heavers though :?
