Uncle Dirty, I met you at the Welland Show (red sweat vest, shorts + a D8K stuck to my backside) I thought your Bristol was a little "Diamond", to paint it would be a sin as it now has the Glory colour paint shade???, I take it you own the Ex Chris Lewis Hong Kong ERF, I used to get upto all sorts for Chris driving Scammell's, Fodens, Leylands plus all sorts of plant tasks, I thought you had the little Bristol working a treat and would look forward to seeing you at the Link Club shows etc, its not all to do with CAT, its realy to do with rusty Iron and a bit of fun.

Blowing it on, Tctractors

Yes Jim
Its quite a common motor. No luck with the parts you are after, yet. Will keep looking. The easy way to knacker those motors it to use a not fully charged battery.Thats what causes most of the problems.I had a few good ones but sold them, got six left but they need servicing.Servicing exchange deals are not bad,but these motors can fetch upto £300 :dizzy:

Thanks Martyn,
Yes,those starters bring good dollars here too.I always tell owners to ensure the glow plugs are in good nick,so starting is easy..
Thanks for looking for those parts.

Hi Martyn,

Thanks for the Starter Motor Number - thought I had an after market push button equivalent but as usual too good to be true - The solenoid clashed with the chassis rail. Back to the hunt for an original. Have been in touch with Jim who has also provided some good leads

Thanks again

Regards

Gordon

Its a shame your so far away as my mate has a good motor, lever operated. I got a load of CA 45's in various conditions that I have just got hold of. I am still trying to get hold of a motor for my 1942 TD6. May have a chance of getting one next week.Keeping fingers crossed.

Hopefully I will be able to get the Drott home next week, waiting confirmed date for the transport. Will be fitting a scarifier to it and hope to take it to some local events in 2012
