GKN Steelworks at Cardiff had a few of these they used to lower them into the hold of ore carriers to clean out the ore in the parts the cranes could not reach. Absolutely horrific conditions for the drivers, claustrophobic to say the least H&S would throw a fit today. I had forgotten about them so thanks for the pics

This type of Eimco. I have never seen this. It is very small and i think it is very effective.

I saw several of the small air powered rocker shovels in the 60s and 70s on the collieries.
Heres a photo of a larger diesel model which clearly shows the rocker mechanism.
