Cat Track Shovels

Post #1 by Nick Drew » Sun Oct 21, 2007 9:55 pm

Here are some shots I took back along when I was doing a tour of duty working away from home for my old mates at James King Earthmoving on a site in Cambridge.

Apparently the King Boys are about to start a new bypass job somewhere in Leicestershire and I may end up on hire tothem with my new Volvo excavator!!

Note their new 963C with the new system one tracks

Great Picture of a fine old beast!!

Thanks for posting Martyn,

Anymore info about this machine to share?? :)

Nick

PS.. Enjoyed reading your piece in the latest Classic Plant & Machinery Magazine, Bit frustrated that Gary still hasn't mentioned CMN so far despite the fact that I sent my letter in again :dizzy:
A mention in the mag really could up our membership here which can only be a good thing eh ??

Hello Nick
Spoke to Gary yesterday,he has seen this site and likes it.Will chase him up to get us publicity.
Don't know that much about that 977, but he has three others in the collection.
Martyn
The 977 is a 977H 150hp at 1950 rpm.

I love those 977H's, they have a real sound of authority when they are working. Might explain why I can't hear as well as I used to!
