Hi Martyn
My Dads friend used to run 2 international 165s they were good machines in terms of production but they used to spend a heck of alot of time in my Dads workshops with their final drives in pieces. The 941B which the guy ( Tom Carpenter) ran was considered to knock spots off the equivilant IH125 in terms of break out power etc and only came into the workshop for under carriage work and services in th 10 years or so he had it. He had a 100 B as well and my brother used to drive it alot The 100 B was a really good machine so my brother said my Dad and Tom used to hire their gear out under the same plant hire name
the fleet was
D6
D5
D4 (not full time as it was farming for 2 months of the year)
941B
2X IH 165
IH 125
IH 100B
IH TD8 dozer
Regards Simon

Re: International 165
Hello Simon
I found the same with the 165s when they were running ok they were good machines. What I also noticed the Caterpiller loaders always had a bit extra, but also cost a lot more than IH machines. All the manual Drotts seem to have more pushing power than their torque convertor stable mates.
Next year I will be completing my 933g,only the mag to make more reliable and a couple of minor jobs then I will give it a respray.
Regards
