Hello Craig and Paul,
Deffinitely an Allis. In the 1960's I worked (fitting) for The Cardiff Plant Group, they ran Allis machines
and I worked on them all.
There were five HD16 blades, two 7 HG7 shovels and three 6G shovels like the one in the photo.and aTL20 wheeled shovel.
They were good reliable machines. Interestingly some of them had what Allis called Moddulated clutches. This was a mechanical system of gearing and clutches which allowed the tractors to be driven forward by pushing the clutch lever forward and bacwards by pulling it back. There was no direction
gear lever.

So many of the old truck/tractor/plant mags are full of dry detail :-
' In 1961 the Doppelganger Mk 111a was introduced with an increased BORE of .0015 inches and an extra 2.768 bhp and the colour was changed to a lighter shade of puce green after the factory moved from Plumstead'

Interesting clips. Especialy the one with the Priestman Wolf backactor, I think the Cat is an HT4 from the 50's which predates the 933.

I think Fred is right HT4 in the second clip. I know I'm right in the first clip as your 951 is actually a 955. K or L though I can't tell 100% though I would guess L with the cab format.

Nice clean demo site. You dont see many of them that tidy these days, and not a bit of rubbish or timber to be seen. Good labourers in those days!

i can remember fitting 2 new clutches in a road roller at tarmac with the same idea forward & reverse lever ,1966 m1 near sheffield
