Track loaders are becoming a thing of the past here in the US. There are only small areas here and there that you will find them. We have owned some model of 955 Cat since early 60's. There might be some renewed interest in them with the take off in popularity of the tracked skid steer.
Are track loaders widely popular in Europe?

Hi Nick,
Its a similar story here in the UK to be honest, the only place where I have noticed they are still fairly popular is around the Midlands
They are a bit of a niche market really.
Here people tend to do most jobs with 360 degree excavators and dumptrucks or smaller forward tipping dumpers

Re: Some New cat track loaders
Theres firms up here in the midlands that use them like nick said. I know theres been 2 or 3 working on the M1 widening up here! J C Balls & Sons run 953s as do long eaton plant hire, DNS midlands, Squires use 963's. Toton Plant Hire used to run a fleet of 5 963's but sadly these had to be sold off as the company has gone bust.

There is a 963 at work on the M4 roadworks at JCT 32. Also saw a 955 at work on the new shopping centre in Cardiff a few months back.Tracked loaders are still in use on small landfill jobs in South Wales. And of course we have a play at Karls place with the 951A and IH 125 Finning Cat down the road have a few in their yard.
