After its showing at the Great Welsh Bite show the 125 was taken to my mates place for its workout. Its first task was to move a Caterpillar cab to become a storage hut.
The tracks are getting better, just the right hand clutch needs freeing off.A bit of hard work on the stone shifting job should sort that problem out.

Great to hear that these good old machines are still "keeping their hand in" with a bit of work!!
Would be great to see some at work shots also

Re: INTERNATIONAL 125 DROTT
been to look at an drott today, last ran 4 years ago. as a preservationist i've only restored a muir-hill dumper in the past and this is some challange. I've been asked if i want to have a play, then i can get the drott going for the owner, and play all i want. he wants to see it going. Can anyone tell me the checks i need to do, and the precautions if any, and the start up sequence?

Re: INTERNATIONAL 125 DROTT
I would check, eng oil, gearbox oil, final drive levels, Hydraulic level, and check water/a freeze in the rad. If the pre heaters are not working, you may have to use easy start.I don't like using that stuff. Or use a lighted rag/blowlamp in the air intake.
Good luck.have fun

Re: INTERNATIONAL 125 DROTT
They are pretty basic. You have a lever in the centre of the front panel, the throttle, push up to increase eng revs.Clutch lever left side, two steering levers and brake pedals for left and right track.
Engine stop is a knob you pull out to stop.
The loader control,s are one lever controls up down and bucket tip,the other lever is for 4 in 1 open and shut. You will soon get used to it,have fun
But be carefull as these machines can do serious damage,to property and humans.

Re: INTERNATIONAL 125 DROTT
martyn, i couldnt find the starter yesterday, and given your experience how likely is this machine to start after 4 yrs? i am charging a battery for my next visit. it has a gear lever, how many gears does it have? there is a left hand pedal which appears not to want to go down, the right hand one does however. i know this is pretty basic stuff, but i havent any manual or anything to read up on.
