Hi Paul, yup, machine great, very rare and in good condition upto the engine suddenly lost oil pressure and knocking. It seems quite a few 411r tractors found there way 'down under'? seem very rare in this country. Do you know of any?

I'm Central Coast Queensland and yeah the fiat 411r was common enough to see in the 70s around the area, mostly around the cane industry, so the more frequent number here was probably the result of a few people exploring what tractor might work in the industry and picking up a bit of a trend. I didn't see many by the 80s though, though a few years ago, a few came up cheap at a number of auctions about.

Presently I'm trying to track down bits for a 513r just to see if one's worthwhile getting. I note that some engine parts are very hard to get for these older fiats.

Your loss of oil pressure could be just your oil pump relief valve failing or a plug out of one of the oil corridors. [Just a guess, I've not worked on a 411r engine.]

Also (from researching to get a manual) the 411r is mostly the same as a oliver cockshutt 1250 diesel (The 1250-a has a different 3 cyl motor)

I think the reason a lot of Fiats found ther way into the sugar cane industry is because a lot of cane farmers are Italian decent from the 50's and early 60's and it was a brand they new and trusted also the bull gear housing could be spun around one bolt hole and it lifted the back end up 10 inches or so and kits were made locally to extend the front ends as which gave you over 30 inches of clearance for cane work

If you know what parts you are chasing the local ex-Fiat ( was the Fiat dealer till CaseIH and Newholland merged ) dealer seems to be able to get anything and everything for older Fiats Im pretty sure there is a complete 411 in his yard and some getting wrecked as well so there is plenty of bits around

Last one is a FL5.

The 411 tractors pop up from time to time at farm sales here in Victoria.
There was a good Fiat dealer in Gippsland called ALTO MOTORS.They seemed to have a good reputation for Fiat knowledge.
GWS tractors are also Fiat specialists.
If you google these Aussie tractor dismantlers, you might find some parts:
Rockhampton Tractor wreckers,Colac Tractor Wreckers,Swan Hill Tractor Wreckers,Agmac.
Importing used parts requires Quarantine ,etc,so costs mount up.

Hope that helps.
