Yeah Really annoying that isnt it...I have a massive gap from my operating years when I never took any photos, so many different machines that I had operated and now have no record of !!

These days I always carry my Digi in my lunch bag just in case something interesting comes along :D

Hello Nick, glad you liked the pictures,I have five tracked loaders. What part of Devon do you live? I lived in Exeter for 10 years,a mate of mine has just got a BTD6 dozer,he has three Drotts. He lives in Ashburton. A mate of mine has just added two D8s to his collection. One of them is the actual machine which got my interest in machines in 1964.
Picture shows this machine under restoration.

Hi Martyn,

I live in Okehampton, I have been down here for just over ten years, I moved down from my hometown city of Southampton, to be honest I quite often wish I was back up there as it can be a struggle down here to find companys that will pay a decent wage!!

But as I am self employed I do have the option to search for the better money.

Some guy contacted me a while back from over Ashburton or Newton abbot way wanted to know if I give talks about old machinery !! I said Im not that brave!!

Nick.

Hi Diesel Dave,

Love your pic of the 983.....What a beast!!

Can we have more pics of her please!!

I understand that they were just like a D8 with loader arms?? but apparently used to wear out the front idlers very quickly? what is your experience of this??

Nick
