Great stuff Paul
Is the logging still carried out in this way or has it been ruined by commercialisation?

Gudday Tone the fires all look bad but the eucalypts need fire to help them grow and regenerate its interesting to go threw were a big fires been and see all the little green leaves starting to shoot back
widget mate I dont no about south west WA but logging has been scaled right back in the last 25 years logging coups have not been reissued ect whole towns have gone most of the saw mills are all gone now to. I grew up in the Otway ranges south west Victoria on a potato farm and all the kids at school were either farmers kids or timber cutters kids my brothers still farms there and still the same amount of kids but most of the kids family's dont make a living off the land but like to live in the area and tell everyone else how it should be done! guessing thats the same the world over now seeya

Re: T.I.R. 1969
If this works, it is a reminder of how dodgy the Mont Cenis Pass is.
When you come out of the cafe at the top you have a long down hill run for a few kilometres with gentle bends. You still take that very slowly because, suddenly you are faced with this.
It seems that Google Earth logged the pass during heavy snow conditions.
It also seems the attachment is disallowed.
OK, then have a look at this location in Google Maps:
45.21586,6.95581
