Carrying On - Older Trucks in Use

Post #1 by XS650 » Fri Apr 01, 2011 1:28 pm

Anything over ten years old and still at it , roughly Y reg and before or anything British ! :)
Occurred to me recently that we are in the last decade when British trucks are still a common sight
These two old ERF EC11'S and the Foden operate between Teesport and the Wilton Container Terminal carrying the long containers , a distance of about two miles which makes them bloody hard to get a pic of ! unusually they are all ballast tractors , something to do with taxation and/or heavier gross weights because I believe this makes them 'Locomotives'

Hi John  . The F series Volvo's were a classic that one's a minter but it wasn't when I got it. Really I'd love an F16 but you cant find them. Really nice interior and good to drive but, by god, I'd love more horsepower!

As for your scania, I regularly drive one locally but its only a 420 straight 6 but its a nice truck. The 14 litre in yours must make quite a difference. What are you going to do for next year then to comply with the LEZ?
