Re: Classic Trucks with Plant
Here's a few more of Frank Ratcliffes "Milly". There restored AEC Militant, assisting in the recovery of a Volvo L150 shovel

Re: Classic Trucks with Plant
I wish I could take the credit Steve, but I got them off the web
Frank Ratcliffe Recovery has been trading for many years local to me and is a very well known company in Cambridgeshire and surrounding counties. They have been situated next to the A1 in a prime location which I think helped them if there was ever an incident.
They cover most this areas heavy road recovery for the local constabulary etc and is a relied on company for getting the job done quickly and efficiently
Here's a photo of them carrying out a recovery on one of the local fen roads, another of "Milly" with a low loader drag......or if Fred reads the post..... Dog And another one of them recovering an unfortunate incident which would have been on one of the local major roads.

Re: Classic Trucks with Plant
Meant to say thanks to all you guys for posting.
I did not realise the Albions were available with so many gearbox options. I thought that era were mainly 6 speed. Were they basically just badge engineered Leylands or did they have different features?
The FG must be among the last?

I Believe so Peter,
The Militant is 1970 MKIII which they restored and have been using for many years, Here's a link where I found Milly is on Wiki.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AEC_Militant
Also a link to there webpage, with some good photo's and a little bit of history, well worth a look if you get time.

Yes FG advert is from 1979 and its looking very dated . Don't think any driver would have been overjoyed with a new one of these !
