Where are they now?

Post #1 by hair bear » Mon May 30, 2016 11:57 pm

Having a trawl through some old show pics, a question came up as to where do old show trucks go?
Four that seem to have vanished are the Western Star Lady Louise, used to belong to CDC in Suffolk. was around from about 1988 through to the early 90's

Another was Blondie's gullwing Scania

And what of Steve Murty's Skytrain Wheelie truck

and Projet?

Are they rotting in field somewhere? Broken for parts? Scrapped even?

Rob I'd hazard a guess that somebody will probably have a 'barn find' one day; a nice find too.

Saw a wheelie truck like that at Dorset steam fair, maybe same truck just revamped. It was crap in my opinion

Definitely one of those things that once you've seen it - you've seen it, rather like the JCB GT. Anyone seen that lately?

Ok, my limited research suggests 'Lady Louise' parted company with CDC 1992 ish and spent a while in Ireland with a circus, but returned to the UK around 2019 and is now in the care of Kevin Baird for restoration.

Last trace I can find of the gull wing Scania is 2015 in the Scania museum.

Apologies if any of this is incorrect.
