What is the ERF on the old N reg? Was that a usual Cab?

No idea!
First glance suggests a bit of Seddon, then maybe a bit of Guy, but the more you stare at it the wierder it looks, just noticed it's LHD too.

According to t'internet, it's a 1974 ERF 7MW ballast tractor. Doesn't really answer the question though.

Yes Pete that was a normal ERF cab although I am not sure of the model number without looking it up they were the base for a heavy haulage tractor from what I can gather and several went for export too.

The 7MW cab was a Motor Panels product and a tilt cab and was offered by ERF on their "European" tractor unit featuring a Cummins 335 hp engine.It was aimed at the continental market but some found their way into British fleets of long term ERF users.
