Wilf Bown R.I.P.

It is with great sadness that the sudden death of Wilf Bown has occured.

Wilf was well known around the Chesterfield /Matlock areas and also many steam fairs etc and was famous for performing the dancing digger routine set to rock and roll music, amazing the crowds by defying the laws of gravity and then jumping onto the top of the cab waving to the crowd ! Had a strong following with thousands of hits worldwide through various social networks,YouTube etc.

First met Wilf in 1985 when I took a MF50 backhoe loader in part exchange against a brand new JCB 3CX Sitemaster and stuck with the product throughout.A very modest guy and was a pleasure to know.

I am sure all members and people who remember him will echo....

Very sorry to hear that. We need people like that in our hobby.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

As a mark of respect to Wilf the J.C.Balls dancing digger display team dedicated their opening performance on Saturday 11th June at the Belper Steam Rally.
