PEORIA, IL – To bring production levels in line with current demand, Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE: CAT) today notified full-time production employees at its Aurora, Decatur and East Peoria, Illinois, manufacturing facilities of permanent layoffs.

A lot of companies are using the financial downturn to shed jobs. Companies that are making vast profits should not make any layoffs in the present climate.

Yes I must agree B100,

A lot of these firms are quite simply using the current climate to rid themselves of a lot of people whom before they might of had trouble getting rid of :dizzy:

Thing that annoys me is a lot of good people are getting the push too
